"I don't know of anything close to the Angel Relief Fund as far as being effective and efficient in assessing disaster situations. Please keep me in the loop about the lessons you learned and how to be ready when the next disaster hits. I think you are leading the way for donors!"

-- Al Mueller, Excellence in Giving

The Angel Relief Fund most recent focus was on assisting those impacted by the devastating earthquake in Haiti in January 2010.  CLICK HERE to read our final report on donations received and grants made to organizations serving those in need in Haiti.

On Sunday, March 21, 2010, 60 Minutes featured The Global Orphan Project to illustrate the plight of recently orphaned children in Haiti. Below is a link to the 60 Minutes episode; the Global Orphan Project interview is the second interview at the 15 minute mark:

The Angel Relief Fund: In 2005, The Angel Relief Fund Granted More Than
$1.9 Million to Assist Victims of Hurricane Katrina

UPDATE Angel Relief Fund Success Story (Summer 2009)
Following Hurricane Katrina, many CCFSF donors contributed to the Angel Relief Fund to provide critical, life saving support and services to those in along the Gulf Coast who were impacted by the storm. One of the local agency's that received a grant from the Fund helped Gordon and June Herron rebuild their home in Kiln, MS.  They recently told us, "The house is doing great and is a blessing to their large family.  We currently have six children that we are caring for and our oldest daughter Michelle is looking at adopting a baby girl.  Gordon was just baptized at Bayou Talla Church and he is excited about his relationship with God." In fact, he is still wearing the Angel Relief bracelet he received four years ago! June is attending church with him and Gordon is encouraging her in her walk with God.

While time has passed since the devastating 2005 hurricane season, for the people who are still living amid the destruction, recover their homes and possessions, and reunite their families, time has stood still. For those of us outside the devastated areas, it’s a time to stop and think about our blessings, our compassion and our priorities. We are reminded how quickly life can change, and that our faith in God must remain paramount.

That’s why the CCFSF and our board of directors established the Angel Relief Fund, a 501(C)(3) organization set up exclusively to facilitate donations from South Florida donors to the victims of Hurricane’s Katrina and Rita. One of our generous donors pledged up to a $1 million to match all donations, dollar for dollar!

The Fund has focused its support on faith-based organizations that are investigated and assessed through our local and national networks. We sought efficient, effective and strategic ways to assist, and assure you that any gift made to the Angel Relief Fund has gone directly to like-minded organizations that are best positioned to meet the needs of hurricane victims.

Click here for a full report on how the CCFSF and our ministry partners have impacted and improved the lives of so many devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
